Tang Camel

Three colour Tang san-cai glazed Tang Camel. The two-humped Bactrian camels that transported goods along The Silk Road were highly regarded for their strength and fortitude. Often preserved as tomb goods, the strongly coloured decoration on these figures was first mastered in the sixth century during the Tang dynasty.
